KIM1 (Kidney Injury Molecule 1) is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on damaged proximal tubule epithelial cells and is widely recognized as one of the most sensitive and earliest rising biomarkers of acute kidney injury (AKI). This Antibodies.com Mouse KIM1 ELISA Kit is intended for research use only and is configured for 96 tests, providing the throughput required for preclinical nephrotoxicity studies, drug-screening panels, and longitudinal injury monitoring in murine models.

The assay measures mouse KIM1 in urine, kidney tissue homogenates, and other sample matrices, allowing researchers to track tubular damage in response to ischemia-reperfusion, cisplatin or gentamicin challenge, sepsis, and genetic models of chronic kidney disease. Each kit ships with pre-coated microplate strips, biotinylated detection antibody, mouse KIM1 standards, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution.

Reagents are supplied on cold packs and should be stored refrigerated; reconstituted standards and concentrated detection antibody should be aliquoted to minimize freeze-thaw cycles. The protocol is compatible with standard microplate readers, and the assay supports immunohistochemistry-comparable workflows by quantifying soluble and tissue-extracted KIM1 across cohorts of treated versus control animals, accelerating translational research on renal injury, drug-induced nephrotoxicity screening, and chronic kidney disease progression.
