Mouse Interleukin 6 ELISA Kit

Designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse IL-6, this sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The quantitative immunoassay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with a biotinylated anti-IL-6 detection antibody and HRP-Avidin conjugate. Signal is generated by TMB substrate catalysis and read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, with the density of the yellow product proportional to the amount of IL-6 captured in each well.

Reported performance characteristics include a standard range of 31.2–2000 pg/ml, a sensitivity of <14.6 pg/ml and a total assay time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Spike-and-recovery testing gave averages of 91% for serum (n=5, range 80%–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (n=5, 81%–100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (n=5, 80%–89%). Dilution linearity has been characterised at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples.
