Mouse Interleukin 3 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Interleukin 3 (IL-3). The kit is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-3. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where IL-3 is captured by the immobilised antibody; after washing, a biotinylated anti-IL-3 antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate are added sequentially. The enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue colour that converts to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, with the density of yellow proportional to the amount of IL-3 captured in each well. Concentration is calculated by reading absorbance at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and referring to the standard curve. Total assay time is 4 h 30 m.

Reported performance figures include a product range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <7.4 pg/ml. Spike-and-recovery values across five replicates averaged 91% for serum (range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%). Linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions in each sample matrix. Kit components are intended to be stored at +4 °C or −20 °C as instructed, and the components must not be used past the stated expiration date.
