Mouse Interleukin 18 Binding Protein ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Interleukin 18 Binding Protein (IL-18BP) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate platform with colorimetric detection read on a microplate reader at 450 nm. The stated assay range is 125-8000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <45 pg/ml, and the protocol takes 4h 30m.

The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for IL-18BP is pre-coated onto the microplate wells. Standards and samples are added and any IL-18BP present is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-IL-18BP antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of IL-18BP captured in each well.

Recovery has been demonstrated in serum (80%-102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (81%-101%, average 91%, n=5) and heparin plasma (80%-89%, average 84%, n=5), with dilution linearity confirmed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across these sample types. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
