Mouse Interleukin 11 ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Interleukin 11 (IL-11) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

A 96-well microtiter plate is pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-11. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where IL-11 is bound by the immobilized capture antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-IL-11 Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of IL-11 captured in each well; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and concentration is calculated against a standard curve.

The kit has a product range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 7.1 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery has been assessed in serum (n=5, 83–100%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5, 90–103%, average 96%) and heparin plasma (n=5, 89–102%, average 95%). Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
