From Antibodies.com, this Mouse IGF1 ELISA Kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse IGF1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. An antibody specific for IGF1 is pre-coated onto a 96-well microtiter plate; standards and samples are added, and bound IGF1 is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-IGF1 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

Quantitative performance figures reported by the manufacturer include a measuring range of 78.1-5000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <29 pg/ml. Spike-and-recovery testing (n=5) gave average recoveries of 91% for serum (range 80%-102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%-100%), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%-89%).
