Mouse IL-1α ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit enables the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse IL-1 alpha in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma. The assay uses a quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent technique in which a monoclonal antibody specific for mouse IL-1 alpha is immobilized onto microwells. Standards or samples are pipetted into the wells, followed by the addition of a biotin-linked monoclonal antibody specific for IL-1 alpha; after removal of unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP is added. A substrate solution reacts with HRP and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-1 alpha bound. Color development is stopped by addition of acid, and the optical density value is measured by microplate reader.

The kit has shown no significant cross-reactivity and can assay both native and recombinant mouse IL-1 alpha. Reported performance includes a sensitivity of 1.68 pg/ml, an assay range of 7.81 - 500 pg/ml, and an average recovery of 89% from serum samples. Components should be stored at +4°C, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date. Detection is colorimetric on a microplate platform.
