Mouse Hepcidin ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Hepcidin in serum, plasma, urine and other biological fluids. The kit employs a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Hepcidin; standards and test samples are added to the wells and any Hepcidin present is captured by the immobilized antibody.

Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Hepcidin Antibody is added, then an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate are used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow is proportional to the amount of Hepcidin captured, and the concentration is calculated by reading absorbance at 450 nm against the standard curve. The quantitative assay has a working range of 62.5–4000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <25.4 pg/ml and a total run time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery averages are 95% for serum, 96% for EDTA plasma and 96% for heparin plasma (n=5).

Kit components include the pre-coated plate (12 × 8 well strips), lyophilized standard, detection reagents, wash and dilution buffers, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers, with components stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. The kit components should not be used past the stated expiration date.
