The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate, a biotinylated anti-GFAP antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate, with TMB substrate read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The standard range is 31.2-2000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 10.0 pg/ml, and the assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, with a warning not to use past the expiration date.
