Mouse Estrogen Receptor Alpha ELISA Kit

Distributed by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) enables the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Estrogen Receptor alpha in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids.

An antibody specific for Estrogen Receptor alpha is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells; following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Estrogen Receptor alpha Antibody binds the captured analyte. An HRP-Avidin conjugate is then added, after which TMB substrate solution is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of Estrogen Receptor alpha captured in each well. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and the analyte concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

Manufacturer-quoted performance figures include a product range of 0.312–20 ng/ml, a sensitivity of <0.146 ng/ml and an assay time of 4 h 30 min. Reported average recovery values (n=5) are 91% for serum (range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%). Kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its stated expiration date.
