Mouse Desmin ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com supplies this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Desmin in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay runs in 4 hours 30 minutes on a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm.

The immunoassay uses a Desmin-specific capture antibody immobilised on the plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where Desmin binds to the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Desmin Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction; the resulting colour intensity—proportional to the amount of Desmin captured in each well—is measured at 450 nm after addition of acidic stop solution.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of less than 0.047 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. In serum (n=5) recovery ranged 84–100% with an average of 92%; EDTA plasma (n=5) ranged 83–99% (average 91%); heparin plasma (n=5) ranged 85–101% (average 93%). Validated dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (n=5 each) yielded recoveries generally between 75% and 110%. Kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
