Mouse Collagen Type I Alpha 2 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Collagen Type I Alpha 2 (COL1A2) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. Reactivity is specified for mouse samples and the assay is read on a colorimetric microplate reader.

According to the manufacturer, the kit offers a sensitivity of 0.053 ng/ml and a product range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. After incubation with TMB substrate and acidic stop solution, absorbance is read at 450 nm; the resulting yellow colour is proportional to the amount of COL1A2 captured. Reported recovery averaged 91% in serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 91% in EDTA plasma (range 81–101%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5). Dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 measured 70–107%, 89–93%, 86–104% and 80–103% in serum (n=5); 95–100%, 85–110%, 81–99% and 90–102% in EDTA plasma (n=5); and 77–104%, 88–95%, 94–104% and 80–107% in heparin plasma (n=5).

The assay uses a microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for COL1A2. Standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-COL1A2 Antibody and then an HRP-Avidin conjugate, with washing steps between. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
