Mouse Caveolin 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Caveolin-1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay is run on a pre-coated microplate with a colorimetric read-out at 450 nm using a standard microplate reader, and the full protocol takes 4 hours 30 minutes.

An antibody specific for Caveolin-1 is immobilised on the plate; standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Caveolin-1 Antibody, an HRP-Avidin conjugate and a TMB substrate whose yellow product intensity is proportional to analyte concentration. Reported sensitivity is <10.7 pg/ml with a working range of 31.2-2000 pg/ml.

In validation testing, average recovery was 91% in serum (range 80-102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81-100%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80-89%, n=5). Linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions ran 87-91% to 92-97% for serum, 90-105% to 79-108% for EDTA plasma and 84-95% to 89-91% for heparin plasma. Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
