Mouse Cathepsin S ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay kit from Antibodies.com enables the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Cathepsin S in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. A 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) is pre-coated with an antibody specific for Cathepsin S; standards and samples are added to the wells and Cathepsin S is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Cathepsin S Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow on addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, and the total assay time is 4 h 30 m.

Manufacturer-reported performance figures include a sensitivity of 25.2 pg/ml and a product range of 62.5–4000 pg/ml. Spike-and-recovery values are quoted as: serum (n=5) 80–102% with an average of 91%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 81–100% with an average of 90%; and heparin plasma (n=5) 80–89% with an average of 84%. Kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
