Mouse Cathepsin L ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Cathepsin L/MEP in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay uses an antibody specific for Cathepsin L/MEP pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate; standards and samples are added, captured Cathepsin L/MEP is detected with a biotinylated anti-Cathepsin L/MEP antibody, and HRP-avidin amplification with TMB substrate yields a colourmetric read-out whose yellow intensity is measured as absorbance at 450 nm and compared against a standard curve.

Across an assay time of 4 h 30 min, the kit reports a sensitivity of 23.7 pg/ml and a quantitative range of 62.5–4000 pg/ml. Spike-and-recovery in serum (n=5) averaged 91%, in EDTA plasma 90% and in heparin plasma 84%, with reported ranges of 80–102%, 81–100% and 80–89% respectively. Dilution linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across the same three sample matrices.

Components comprise a pre-coated microplate in a 12 x 8 well strip configuration, lyophilised standard, Detection Solution A and Detection Solution B, 30X Wash Buffer, Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution and plate sealers. Storage is at +4°C or –20°C as indicated for each component, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
