Mouse Cathepsin G ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Cathepsin G in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, with an antibody specific for Cathepsin G pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where Cathepsin G is captured by the immobilised antibody.

Following incubation with a Biotinylated Anti-Cathepsin G Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate, TMB substrate is used to visualise the reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Cathepsin G captured and is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. Reported sensitivity is <1.42 pg/ml with an assay range of 3.12-200 pg/ml, and a total assay time of 4h 30m.

Recovery data supplied by the manufacturer gives average values of 91% for serum (range 80%-102%, n=5), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%-100%, n=5), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%-89%, n=5), with dilution linearity reported at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for all three sample types. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, the kit is suitable for serum, plasma and tissue homogenates, and should not be used past its expiration date.
