Mouse Cathepsin D ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Cathepsin D in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay is a sandwich (quantitative) Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay with reactivity specific to mouse samples.

The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique using a pre-coated microplate. An antibody specific for Cathepsin D immobilises the target from standards and test samples, followed by incubation with a Biotinylated Anti-Cathepsin D Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. The enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. Cathepsin D concentration is determined by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and referring to the standard curve. Total assay time is 4h 30m, with detection carried out on a colorimetric microplate reader platform.

Performance characteristics reported in the product specification include an assay range of 31.2-2000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <14.3 pg/ml. Recovery values are provided for serum (n=5, average 91%, range 80%-102%), EDTA plasma (n=5, average 90%, range 81%-100%) and heparin plasma (n=5, average 84%, range 80%-89%). Linearity data is reported at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (n=5). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
