Mouse Cartilage Oligomeric Matrix Protein ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this Mouse Cartilage Oligomeric Matrix Protein (COMP) ELISA Kit is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse COMP in serum, plasma, or other biological fluids. An antibody specific for COMP is pre-coated onto the wells of a microplate; standards and test samples are added, and the COMP present in each sample is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-COMP antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualize the enzymatic reaction; the resulting yellow product is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration is calculated against a standard curve.

The quoted sensitivity is 1.45 ng/ml with an assay range of 3.12–200 ng/ml. The assay is read on a colorimetric microplate reader, takes approximately 4 hours 30 minutes to complete, and kit components are stored at +4 °C or –20 °C as instructed. Reported sample recovery (n=5) averaged 91% in serum (range 80–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (81–100%), and 84% in heparin plasma (80–89%). Dilution linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions was 87–107% in serum, 79–108% in EDTA plasma, and 82–105% in heparin plasma.
