Mouse Carnitine Acetyltransferase ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Carnitine Acetyltransferase in tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids. It is intended for research use only.

The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for Carnitine Acetyltransferase is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate, and the target is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-Carnitine Acetyltransferase Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. The reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue product that turns yellow after addition of stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader, and concentration is calculated against a standard curve. The assay is completed in approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.047 ng/ml. Spike-and-recovery testing (n=5) showed average recoveries of 91% for serum (range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%). Dilution linearity from 1:2 to 1:16 has been validated across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
