Mouse Calcitonin ELISA Kit

An in vitro quantitative sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com for the determination of mouse Calcitonin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate format with a biotinylated anti-Calcitonin detection antibody and HRP-Avidin conjugate, with colorimetric detection via TMB substrate.

Manufacturer data specifies a product range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <4.45 pg/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; the density of yellow is proportional to Calcitonin concentration, which is calculated by reading the absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

The kit is validated for use with serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples. Kit components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
