Mouse Apolipoprotein E ELISA Kit

Manufactured under the Antibodies.com brand, this Mouse Apolipoprotein E ELISA Kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Apolipoprotein E. It is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated microplate platform with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm in a microplate reader. An antibody specific for Apolipoprotein E is pre-coated onto the plate; standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Apolipoprotein E Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow on addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow is proportional to the amount of Apolipoprotein E captured, and the concentration is calculated by referring absorbance at 450 nm to a standard curve. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. The reported product range is 7.81–500 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 3.16 ng/ml. Reported recovery averages are 91% for serum (range 80%–102%, n=5), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%, n=5) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%–89%, n=5).
