Mouse Apolipoprotein E ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Apolipoprotein E in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay is run on a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) bearing an immobilised antibody specific for Apolipoprotein E. Standards or samples are added to the wells; bound Apolipoprotein E is then detected using a biotinylated anti-Apolipoprotein E antibody followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. The reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue product that turns yellow on addition of the acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration of Apolipoprotein E is calculated from the standard curve.

The standard curve covers 7.81-500 ng/ml, with a sensitivity of 3.16 ng/ml. The total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Validated recovery in serum is 80-102% (average 91%, n=5), 81-100% in EDTA plasma (average 90%, n=5) and 80-89% in heparin plasma (average 84%, n=5). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
