Monkey Interleukin 6 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of monkey Interleukin 6 (IL-6) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay employs a 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-6, followed by incubation with a Biotinylated Anti-IL-6 Antibody, an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution, with the concentration of IL-6 calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The reported product range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <6.4 pg/ml. Validated recovery values average 91% for serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, n=5) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5), with linearity demonstrated across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 in the same sample types. The total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes and kit components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed; the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
