This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of monkey Fas in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate format (12 x 8 well strips) and follows the sandwich enzyme immunoassay principle. An antibody specific for Fas is pre-coated onto the plate; standards and samples are added and Fas is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Fas Antibody binds the captured Fas, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate addition. TMB substrate is used to visualize the reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration of Fas is calculated from a standard curve.

The assay has a product range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <3.6 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Reported average recovery values are 91% for serum (n=5, range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81–100%), and 84% for heparin plasma (n=5, range 80–89%). Dilutional linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions is reported as 87–91% to 92–97% for serum, 90–105% to 79–108% for EDTA plasma, and 84–95% to 89–91% for heparin plasma.

Kit components include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilized standard, Detection Solution A, Detection Solution B, Wash Buffer (30X), Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution, and plate sealers. Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
