From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative in vitro determination of monkey Apolipoprotein A I in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The format is a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate; standards and samples are added to the wells and the target analyte binds to the immobilized capture antibody. After incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Apolipoprotein A I Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; the density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Apolipoprotein A I captured in each well. The concentration is calculated by reading the absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

The stated product range is 1.56-100 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.62 ng/ml. The assay time is 4h 30m, and the kit is intended for use with a colorimetric microplate reader. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol manual, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.

Reported recovery performance includes serum (n=5, range 80%-102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81%-100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (n=5, range 80%-89%, average 84%). Dilution linearity is also reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions.
