From Antibodies.com, this Human Vitamin D Receptor ELISA Kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Vitamin D Receptor. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, and uses a biotinylated detection antibody together with an HRP conjugate. Detection is performed colorimetrically by reading the absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader, with the concentration of Vitamin D Receptor in each sample calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The reported assay range is 0.625-40 ng/ml, with a sensitivity of <0.224 ng/ml. The kit is suitable for tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. Sample recovery data are provided: in serum the average recovery is 91% (range 80%–102%, n=5), in EDTA plasma 90% (range 81%–100%, n=5) and in heparin plasma 84% (range 80%–89%, n=5). Linearity of dilution is also reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16.

Kit components include the pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol manual, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
