Human Visfatin ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Visfatin in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with human samples and uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate formatted as 12 x 8 well strips. Detection is performed on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm, using a Biotinylated Anti-Visfatin Antibody and HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a yellow product whose density is proportional to Visfatin concentration; the result is read against a standard curve.

Performance figures from the manufacturer include a sensitivity of <6.3 pg/ml, an assay range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml, and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Spike-and-recovery values (n=5) were 80%-102% in serum (average 91%), 81%-99% in EDTA plasma (average 90%), and 80%-89% in heparin plasma (average 84%). Reported dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (n=5) was: serum 87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101%, 92-97%; EDTA plasma 90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101%, 79-108%; heparin plasma 84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105%, 89-91%.

According to the manufacturer, kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date. Components include a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer (30X), sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers.
