A sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human MAVS, also known as Virus Induced Signaling Adapter, in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a specific antibody pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where the target binds to the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-MAVS Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added; the HRP enzymatic reaction produces a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, and target concentration is calculated against a standard curve.

Reported sensitivity is <0.068 ng/ml, with an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. The kit is suitable for sandwich ELISA applications with human samples.

Kit components include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilized standard (2 vials), detection solutions A and B (120 µl each), 30X wash buffer (20 ml), sample dilution buffer (45 ml), TMB substrate (9 ml), stop solution (6 ml), and 5 adhesive plate sealers. Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
