Human Vimentin ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Vimentin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with reactivity specific to human samples. Detection is colourimetric, performed on a microplate reader at 450 nm after addition of TMB substrate and acidic stop solution, where the intensity of the resulting yellow colour is proportional to the amount of Vimentin captured in each well.

The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate configured as 12 x 8 well strips and follows the sandwich immunoassay principle: an immobilised anti-Vimentin antibody captures antigen from standards and samples, a biotinylated anti-Vimentin detection antibody binds the captured analyte, and HRP-Avidin conjugate catalyses the substrate reaction. The reported product range is 1.25–80 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.51 ng/ml, and the complete protocol takes 4 h 30 min. Reported average recovery is 91% in serum, 90% in EDTA plasma and 84% in heparin plasma across observed ranges of 80–102%, 81–100% and 80–89% respectively (n=5).

Supplied components include the pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips), 2 vials of lyophilised standard, 120 μl of Detection Solution A, 120 μl of Detection Solution B, 20 ml of 30X Wash Buffer, 45 ml of Sample Dilution Buffer, 9 ml of TMB Substrate, 6 ml of Stop Solution and 5 adhesive plate sealers. Kit components should be stored at +4 °C or -20 °C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
