Human VEGF-B ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human VEGFB in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm.

The kit is specific for VEGFB, with no reported cross-reactivity with other analogs or variants. Standards and samples are added to the wells where VEGFB binds to the immobilised capture antibody; a biotinylated detection antibody and HRP-Streptavidin reagent are added to form an antibody–antigen–antibody sandwich complex. TMB substrate is added to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution. The intensity of yellow colour is directly proportional to VEGFB concentration and is calculated against a standard curve.

Manufacturer specifications cite an assay range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of <9.375 pg/mL, while an alternative specification lists a range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <6.3 pg/ml. Validated sample matrices include serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma with recoveries typically in the 80–105% range across undiluted and serially diluted conditions. Recommended dilutions include undiluted healthy serum and undiluted healthy plasma. Kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed in the protocol manual; the kit should not be used past its expiration date and freeze/thaw cycles should be avoided.
