Human Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma. A monoclonal antibody specific for human VEGF is immobilised onto microwells; standards or samples are pipetted into the wells, followed by a biotin-linked monoclonal antibody specific for VEGF. VEGF present is bound by the immobilised antibody and the detection antibody during the first incubation, and after removal of unbound substances streptavidin-HRP is added for a second incubation. Substrate then reacts with HRP to develop colour in proportion to bound VEGF, the reaction is stopped by addition of acid, and the optical density is measured by microplate reader.

Reactivity is to human VEGF, with the kit able to assay both native and recombinant human VEGF and reported to show no significant cross-reactivity. The product range is 31.25 - 2000 pg/ml and the sensitivity is 3.66 pg/ml (<3.66 pg/ml). Average recovery from serum samples is reported as 102%. Detection is colorimetric on a microplate platform.
