Human V-Maf Musculoaponeurotic Fibrosarcoma Oncogene Homolog ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human c-Maf (V-Maf musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma oncogene homolog) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with human specimens and runs as a quantitative sandwich ELISA on a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips).

The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, in which an antibody specific for c-Maf has been pre-coated onto the microplate wells to capture target from standards and test samples. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-c-Maf Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of c-Maf captured, and concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader against the standard curve.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.074 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 h 30 min. Kit components include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and adhesive plate sealers. Components should be stored at +4 °C or −20 °C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
