Human Transmembrane Protease, Serine 2 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Transmembrane Protease, Serine 2 (TMPRSS2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate in a 12 x 8 well strip format and follows a standard sandwich enzyme immunoassay workflow. Standards and samples are added to the coated wells, followed by a biotinylated anti-TMPRSS2 detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. After incubation with TMB substrate, an acidic stop solution produces a yellow product whose absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader; TMPRSS2 concentration is then calculated against a standard curve. The quoted assay range is 0.156–10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.056 ng/ml, and the total run time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

Spike-and-recovery figures supplied with the kit include: serum (n=5) 80–102%, average 91%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 81–101%, average 91%; heparin plasma (n=5) 80–89%, average 84%. Dilution linearity is reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions. Kit components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
