Human Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 (TGF beta 1) in serum, platelet-poor plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a sandwich enzyme immunoassay format, with a TGF beta 1-specific capture antibody pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. After incubation with standards and samples, a biotinylated anti-TGF beta 1 antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue colour which converts to yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a microplate reader.

The assay has a working range of 31.2–2000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 11.8 pg/ml. It runs in approximately 4 hours 30 minutes on a colourimetric microplate reader platform, using a pre-coated 12 x 8-well strip plate. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed. Manufacturer-reported average recovery (n=5) is 91% in serum (range 83–99%), 89% in EDTA plasma (range 80–99%) and 90% in Heparin plasma (range 82–99%). Linearity testing across dilutions of 1:2 to 1:16 yields recoveries broadly between 74–110% across all three matrices.
