Human Transferrin Receptor ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Transferrin Receptor in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids.

The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate to which samples and standards are added. Transferrin Receptor present in each sample is captured by the immobilized antibody, and detection is achieved using a Biotinylated Anti-Transferrin Receptor Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of target captured in each well, and the concentration of Transferrin Receptor is calculated by reading absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader against the standard curve. Total assay time is 4h 30m.

The working range is 1.56-100 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.58 ng/ml. Kit components include a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, Detection Solutions A and B, Wash Buffer (30X), Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution and plate sealers, stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. Reported recovery ranges were 80%-102% in serum (average 91%), 81%-100% in EDTA plasma (average 90%) and 80%-89% in heparin plasma (average 84%). Dilutional linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 returned recoveries of 87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101% and 92-97% for serum; 90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101% and 79-108% for EDTA plasma; and 84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105% and 89-91% for heparin plasma.
