Human Transferrin ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Transferrin in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma. The kit is reactive with human samples and uses a colorimetric microplate-based detection format.

The assay is based on the quantitative sandwich ELISA technique. A monoclonal antibody specific for human Transferrin has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any unbound substances are washed away, after which an HRP-linked detection antibody specific for Transferrin is added. Substrate solution is then added and colour develops in proportion to the amount of Transferrin bound in the initial step. The colour development is stopped and the intensity of the colour is measured.

The assay has a sensitivity of 2.82 pg/ml and a product range of 937.50 – 60000 pg/ml. It has shown no significant cross-reactivity and can assay both native and recombinant human Transferrin. Components should be stored at +4°C and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
