Human Transcobalamin II, Macrocytic Anemia ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Transcobalamin II (TC-2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate and a biotinylated anti-TC-2 detection antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, and the absorbance of the resulting yellow product is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader. The read-out is colourmetric and the total assay time is 4h 30m.

The manufacturer reports recovery values of 80–102% (average 91%, n=5) for serum, 81–100% (average 90%, n=5) for EDTA plasma and 80–89% (average 84%, n=5) for heparin plasma. Dilution linearity is given for serial two-fold dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16: serum 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%; EDTA plasma 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%; heparin plasma 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%. Sensitivity is stated as <0.061 ng/ml and the assay range is 0.156–10 ng/ml. Kit components are stored at either +4°C or –20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
