Human TNF-α ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human TNF-alpha in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma. The kit can assay both native and recombinant human TNF-alpha and has shown no significant cross-reactivity.

The assay uses microwells pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for human TNF-alpha. Standards or samples are pipetted into the wells, followed by a biotin-linked monoclonal detection antibody specific for TNF-alpha. After removal of unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP is added and a substrate solution reacts with HRP, producing colour development in proportion to the amount of TNF-alpha bound. The reaction is stopped by addition of acid and the optical density is measured with a microplate reader. Detection is colorimetric on a microplate platform.

The quantitative assay range is 7.81 - 500 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <0.42 pg/ml. Average recovery from serum samples is 106%. The kit should be stored at +4°C and not used past the expiration date.
