From Antibodies.com, the Human TIMP2 ELISA Kit is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of human TIMP2 (Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases 2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microtiter plate format with a biotinylated anti-TIMP2 detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate, with TMB substrate used to visualise the enzymatic reaction. Absorbance is read at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader.

Reported sensitivity is <14.5 pg/ml with a standard curve range of 46.8–3000 pg/ml. The total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and should not be used past the expiration date.

Sample recovery has been validated in serum (80%–102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (81%–100%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (80%–89%, average 84%, n=5). Dilution linearity has been characterised at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across the same sample types.
