From Antibodies.com, this competitive ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Thyrotropin Releasing Hormone (TRH) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique on a pre-coated microplate with a biotinylated anti-TRH antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. Signal is generated using TMB substrate, stopped with an acidic stop solution, and read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader; absorbance is inversely proportional to TRH concentration and is quantified against a standard curve.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of <3.25 pg/ml and an assay range of 7.81-500 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 2 h 30 min. Mean recovery values were 91% in serum, 90% in EDTA plasma and 84% in heparin plasma, with dilution linearity demonstrated across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 sample dilutions.
