Human Thymosin Beta 4 ELISA Kit

This competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA), supplied by Antibodies.com as part of their Assays and Kits range, is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Thymosin beta 4 in serum, plasma, or other biological fluids.

The kit employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) onto which Thymosin beta 4 antigen has been immobilised. During incubation, Thymosin beta 4 in samples or standards competes with the fixed antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-Thymosin beta 4 antibody. After washing to remove unbound antibody, an HRP-avidin conjugate is added, followed by TMB substrate solution. The resulting colour change is inversely proportional to Thymosin beta 4 concentration and is measured as optical density at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader.

The reported assay range is 3.12–200 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <1.25 ng/ml, and total assay time is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. Reported average recovery values across five samples are 91% for serum, 89% for EDTA plasma, and 90% for heparin plasma. Components include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, 30x wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution, and plate sealers. Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
