Human Thioredoxin ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Thioredoxin (TRX) in serum, plasma, or other biological fluids. The kit uses a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Thioredoxin/TRX. Standards and samples are added to the wells and the captured target is detected using a biotinylated anti-Thioredoxin/TRX antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution; the absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration of Thioredoxin/TRX is calculated by reference to the standard curve.

Reported sensitivity is less than 14.2 pg/ml, with a working assay range of 31.2–2000 pg/ml and a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery has been evaluated in serum (average 95%, range 90–101%, n=5), EDTA plasma (average 95%, range 91–99%, n=5) and heparin plasma (average 94%, range 90–99%, n=5). Dilutional linearity is reported across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 sample dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.

Kit components include the pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips), lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers. Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
