Human TGF beta 1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human TGF beta 1 in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma. The kit shows no significant cross-reactivity and is suitable for assaying both native and recombinant human TGF-ß1.

The assay uses the quantitative sandwich ELISA technique. A monoclonal antibody specific for human TGF-ß1 is immobilized onto microwells, and standards or samples are pipetted into the wells so that any TGF-ß1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After washing away unbound substances, a biotin-linked monoclonal antibody specific for TGF-ß1 is added. Following a further wash to remove any unbound detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP is added. The substrate solution then reacts with HRP and colour develops in proportion to the amount of TGF-ß1 bound. Colour development is stopped by addition of acid and the optical density value is measured with a microplate reader.

Detection is colorimetric on a microplate platform. The assay range is 31.25 - 2000 pg/ml, with a sensitivity of 3.36 pg/ml and an average recovery of 99% from serum samples. The kit should be stored at +4°C and not used past the expiration date.
