Human Tenascin C ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Tenascin C in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. An antibody specific for Tenascin C is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Tenascin C Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualize the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow after addition of an acidic stop solution. The concentration of Tenascin C is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm and referring to a standard curve.

Sensitivity is 14.2 pg/ml and the assay range is 31.2-2000 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes, with detection performed on a colorimetric microplate reader. Reagent components are stored at +4°C or -20°C depending on the item. The product is intended for research use only.

Spike-and-recovery data across five replicates showed average recoveries of 91% for serum (range 80-102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81-100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80-89%). Linearity upon dilution was demonstrated for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at multiple dilution factors from 1:2 through 1:16.
