Description

Manufactured for Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Sulfatase Modifying Factor 1 (FGE) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique: an antibody specific for FGE is pre-coated onto the wells of a microplate, and standards or test samples are added so that FGE present in each sample binds to the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-FGE Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of FGE captured in each well, and the concentration of FGE is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve.

Key features include a sensitivity of <0.064 ng/ml, an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, and a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. The kit is intended for use with human samples and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader. Recovery has been validated across multiple sample types, with averages of 91% in serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, n=5), and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5). Dilution linearity has also been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
