Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Steroidogenic Acute Regulatory Protein (StAR) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate and a biotinylated anti-StAR detection antibody, with signal generation via an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. Absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Sensitivity is reported as <0.064 ng/ml, with an assay range of 0.156-10 ng/ml. Total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. The kit is supplied with a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilized standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution, and adhesive plate sealers, with components stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.

Spike-and-recovery performance was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. Mean recoveries were 91% in serum (range 80-102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81-100%, n=5), and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80-89%, n=5). Dilution linearity was also demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions in the same sample types.
