Description
Supplied by Antibodies.com, this Sandwich ELISA is configured for the in vitro quantitative measurement of human Small Breast Epithelial Mucin (SBEM) in serum, plasma, saliva, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate and the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique: standards and samples are added to wells where SBEM is captured by an immobilised antibody, then detected with a biotinylated anti-SBEM antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added; the resulting blue product turns yellow after stop solution is applied, and absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader.
The quantitative assay spans 0.312-20 ng/ml with a reported sensitivity of <0.082 ng/ml and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Reported mean recoveries are 91% in serum (range 80%-102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81%-100%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80%-89%, n=5). Dilution linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 is documented for each matrix. Kit components include a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers. Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
