Human Resistin ELISA Kit

This Antibodies.com sandwich ELISA kit enables quantitative in vitro determination of human Resistin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The pre-coated microtiter plate is supplied with an antibody specific for Resistin immobilised on the wells, and standards or samples are added to allow Resistin to bind to the capture antibody.

Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Resistin Antibody is added and binds the captured Resistin, after which an HRP-Avidin conjugate is introduced. The HRP enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow is proportional to Resistin concentration, which is quantified by reading the optical density at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and referring to the standard curve. The standard curve covers 31.2-2000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 13.6 pg/ml, and the total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

Recovery ranges reported for spiked samples are 80-102% in serum (n=5), 81-100% in EDTA plasma (n=5) and 80-89% in heparin plasma (n=5). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol manual, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
