From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human CD23 (Receptor II for the Fc Region of Immunoglobulin E) in serum, plasma, or other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with a biotinylated anti-CD23 antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate for detection. The enzymatic reaction is visualised using TMB substrate and read as absorbance at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader.

Sensitivity is less than 0.107 ng/ml and the assay range is 0.312–20 ng/ml. Reported average recovery values are 91% for serum (range 80%–102%), 91% for EDTA plasma (range 81%–101%), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%–89%). Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes, and kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed. The kit should not be used past its stated expiration date.

Reactivity is specific to human samples. The procedure follows a sandwich immunoassay principle in which CD23 is captured by an immobilised antibody, detected with a biotinylated antibody, and quantified by reference to a standard curve.
