From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Quinoid Dihydropteridine Reductase (QDPR/DHPR) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate format with colourimetric detection, in which an antibody specific for QDPR/DHPR is immobilised on the plate to capture analyte from standards and test samples.

The reported sensitivity is less than 0.051 ng/ml, with an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, and a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Performance has been evaluated in human serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, with average recoveries reported as 91% for serum, 90% for EDTA plasma and 84% for heparin plasma; spike-and-recovery ranges across serial dilutions are also reported for each matrix. Kit components should be stored between +4°C and −20°C as indicated and the product should not be used past its expiration date.

Detection is achieved using a biotinylated anti-QDPR/DHPR antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate, with the enzymatic reaction visualised by TMB substrate and stopped with acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a microplate reader and the QDPR/DHPR concentration is calculated by reference to the standard curve generated from the lyophilised standards provided.
